The festival Borštnik's meeting, which attracts theater lovers from near and far to Maribor every autumn, is celebrating half a century this year. This important turning point will be marked between October 15 and 25 by numerous performances, a varied accompanying program and an exhibition and e-exhibition Let's go to Borštnik.
Half a century ago, Fran Žižek, then director of Maribor Drama, wrote that Maribor should be the scene of the harvest of Slovenian theater culture every autumn. After 50 years of operation, the festival Borštnikovo sročnoje celebrates the biggest turning point so far, which is not only connected with the celebration of this important jubilee, but also with financing problems. Nevertheless, it will be the jubilee autumn between October 15 and 25 under the guidance of the artistic director of the festival, Alja Predan, came to life in the most beautiful colors.
The main focus of this year's festival is devoted to contemporary Polish drama and theatre, within this so-called "Polish focus" and the festival will also host two Polish productions: Feast of the Dead and Paradise now? Re//Mix Living Theatre. At the festival, we will be able to see as many as 28 performances, among which the performances that resonated the most in the last year will be staged in the competition program: Grad SNG Drama Ljubljana, Iliad SNG Drama Ljubljana, Cankarjev dom and the City Theater of Ljubljana, Yugoslavia, my land SNG Drama Ljubljana, Hedda Gabler SNG Drama Maribor and others.

Many productions by young talents with AGRFT will also be on display, and the festival will of course be accompanied by talks and symposia. The final event and award ceremony will take place in the Great Hall of SNG Drama Maribor on October 25. During the festival, the exhibition Let's Go to Borštnik will be on display in the Maribor National Liberation Museum on the occasion of the great jubilee, and we will be able to view the e-exhibition Festival Borštnik's Meeting 2015 in electronic form.
