Melbourne, Australia's Victoria Harbor may soon be richer for a floating surf park that allows you to ride waves up to 1.5 meters high. Architecture studio Damian Rogers is planning a 160-meter-long heated pool, where it will be possible to create artificial waves in a controlled manner.
There will be a floating facility at the end of Docklands' central piers, near Melbourne's Etihad Stadium 'The Buoyant' featured a large sandy beach with an expansive lawn and a pavilion that includes shops and restaurants. The main structure is 160 meters long swimming pool with heated water, which will produce waves up to a meter and a half high. The project by architecture studio Damian Rogers and engineering firm Arup is currently in its early stages, with developers seeking around AUD$8,000,000 $ to fund the scheme.
“The whole concept floating surf pool started with the idea of being able to surf in the city center," he explained architect Damian Rogers. It's in the very core surf wave, for which they were looking for technology that allows the wave to be just the right size for those who are still learning to surf. The vision, however, includes the entire urban space where people can enjoy the environment. They are planning a place for picnics, for socializing, and for children learning to swim.
