Toyota recently expanded its family of hybrid cars - until now the family had only one member, the Prius - with the auris HSD model, making such cars even more affordable. The newcomer is equipped with two electric motors and a 1.8-liter VVT-i gasoline engine. The operation of the drive system is overseen by electronics that ensure automatic and undetectable switching between drive sources. At the push of a button, the driver can choose the drive mode: whether he will drive solely on electricity (EV mode), or on gasoline (Power), or whether he will combine both (Eco). It should only be mentioned that the volume of the trunk will be smaller than that of the non-electric Auris: instead of 350, only 279 liters.
