The competition is shaking: How Xiaomi made the most expensive headphones on the market laugh with the new Redmi Buds 8 Pro for 79 euros

Welcome to 2026, where Xiaomi once again serves us something that sounds like science fiction on paper, but actually works in practice. The Redmi Buds 8 Pro promise an incredible 55 dB of silence, studio-quality sound, and a battery that lasts longer than the average transatlantic flight. Are they really that good or are they just another piece of plastic? Let's check.

You know what I really hate? Noise. People chewing snacks on airplanes like they're grinding a concrete mixer in their mouths. Kids screaming in the store like they've stepped on a landmine. And of course, that unbearable wind noise when you're trying to listen to your favorite music in peace on a walk. Luckily, the engineers at Xiaomi apparently shared my frustrations. Their response? Xiaomi Redmi Buds 8 Pro. Headphones that are not just a piece of electronics, but a true sound fortress for your ears.

A concert hall in your pocket and a battery that knows no surrender

Redmi Buds 8 Pro is a true technological masterpiece. The sound is provided by brand new coaxial triple drivers, which are a real miracle in the world of pocket acoustics, squeezed into a few grams of carefully designed plastic. All this is supported by a prestigious Hi-Res Audio certified and Dolby Audio technology. The result? The highs are razor-sharp, and the bass is deep and incredibly precise—without that annoying, foggy roar that you get with cheap discount headphones. The soundstage is so crystal clear, you'll finally hear that hidden triangle in the background of your favorite songs.

But since we are talking about a top-of-the-line portable device, studio sound is only half the battle. Without relentless power, even the best headphones are just expensive and useless ear ornaments. But the battery capacity is bordering on the absurd. On a single charge, the headphones can withstand massive 8 hours of continuous playback, with the included charging box, it is common autonomy increases to an impressive 33 hours. That's more than enough to get you through a grueling intercontinental flight, including all the airport delays, without even thinking about finding a power outlet. And when you finally run out of power? A quick stop is all you need – just 5 minutes of quick charging on the cable gives you an astonishing 2 hours of extra listening time. The entire experience is rounded out by the latest standard Bluetooth 5.4, which ensures a completely instant, extremely stable connection without any frustrating delays. It simply works - reliable, long-lasting and completely without compromise.

A sound barrier and complete isolation from the madness of everyday life

But the real star of the show is the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). This advanced mechanism can drown out the incredible 55 dB of external noise, using an ultra-wide frequency band of up to 5 kHz. In practice, this means something extraordinary. When you put these little buds in your ears and turn on ANC, the world around you simply and literally shuts down. All external disturbances disappear into nothingness.

And if you're worried about the wind when you're cycling at speeds of up to 43 km/h, don't worry. The headphones have advanced artificial intelligence and three powerful microphones that can handle wind noise at speeds of up to an incredible 12 m/s. Your phone calls will be as crystal clear as if you were calling from a professional soundproof radio, not in the middle of an autumn storm.

Given that they have dust and water protection according to the IP54 industry standard, the headphones are not afraid of a sudden downpour or your sweatiest moments at the gym.

Final thought and verdict

At the end of a long day, we always have to ask ourselves a very simple question: do the new Redmi Buds 8 Pro headphones really justify their existence in an already heavily oversaturated electronics market? The answer from several different tests and my personal conclusion is an absolute and resounding yes. For the funny price 79 euros you get an impressive package of advanced technology that would cost at least three times as much in the competition with the Bitten Apple or those sinfully expensive audiophile brands.
