We present to you an architectural landmark that you must see the next time you are in a hurry in Prague.
Dancing house was created in collaboration between the Czech-Croatian architect Vlado Milunić and the famous Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry on the site of a building that was demolished during World War II. The dancing or drunken house was built in 1996, its non-traditional design sparked a lot of controversy at the time. The house had a strong supporter in Vaclav Havel, who lived nearby for decades and wanted to establish a cultural center in it.
The house was originally named after the famous dancing couple Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Fred and Ginger. It stands in the quarter, where Baroque and Gothic styles and Art Nouveau intertwine. On the roof of the building is a French restaurant with a view of the city.
