Why does the dishwasher not wash dishes as well as expected? Do you ever take dirty dishes out of the dishwasher, even though they have just been washed?

Do you ever take a dish out of the dishwasher that is not completely clean, or even still dirty? Why does the dishwasher not wash dishes well?

There are more reasons, why this can happen, and luckily there are solutions that can help you get clean and shiny dishes.

Why the dishwasher does not wash the dishes well: The most common reasons and the solution to this problem

1. Improper loading of the container

If you load the container in a way that blocks the flow of water or prevents contact with the detergent, the dirt may not be removed effectively.

Solution: Make sure you load the dishes in the dishwasher correctly so that they are not overcrowded and have enough space for the water to circulate. Also follow the instructions of the dishwasher manufacturer regarding the correct loading of dishes.

2. Incorrect temperature setting

Water temperature is key to effective dishwashing. If the water is too cold, the detergent may not work properly, while too hot water may cause problems with the dishes or even damage the plastic parts of the dishwasher.

Solution: Check that the water temperature in your dishwasher is set correctly. The recommended temperature for effective dishwashing is usually between 50 and 60 degrees Celsius.

3. Using the wrong detergent

Using the wrong detergent can affect the effectiveness of dishwashing. Detergents for washing dishes by hand are not suitable for use in dishwashers, as they do not foam enough and do not contain the necessary ingredients to remove stubborn dirt.

Solution: Use only detergents specially formulated for dishwashers. Also, make sure that you use the right amount of detergent based on the hardness of the water and the degree of soiling of the dishes.

4. Clogged nozzles

If the nozzles of your dishwasher are clogged, the water may not circulate properly and the dishes may not be cleaned effectively.

Solution: Regularly inspect the dishwasher nozzles and clean them if they are clogged. You can also use special means to remove dirt from the nozzles.

5. Poor water quality

Hard water can negatively affect the efficiency of the dishwasher and cause the dishes to not be completely clean.

Solution: If you have problems with hard water, consider installing a water softener system.

6. Defective parts of the dishwasher

Finally, defective parts of the dishwasher can affect its efficiency in washing dishes. Problems with the pump, heater, or other key parts can cause the dishwasher to malfunction.

Solution: If you suspect that you have a problem with defective parts in your dishwasher, call a dishwasher repair professional to inspect and fix any problems.

7. Do not rinse food before loading

Food residues can clog dishwasher filters, which can lead to poor washing and dirty dishes.

Solution: Make sure you remove most of the food residue from the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. Use a tool or brush to remove stubborn dirt from the pan.

8. You are not using the correct settings

Incorrect settings of the dishwasher can affect the efficiency of its operation. If you have not selected the correct programs or have not set the washing time or temperature accordingly, the dishes may not be cleaned effectively enough.

Solution: Before starting the dishwasher, check that the correct settings are selected for the type of dishes and the level of soiling. Follow the manufacturer's instructions.

9. You did not select the right water temperature

As mentioned earlier, water temperature is key to effective dishwashing. If the water temperature is not correct, the detergent may not work properly and the dishes may not be completely cleaned.

Solution: Check that the water temperature in your dishwasher is set correctly. The recommended temperature for effective dishwashing is usually between 50 and 60 degrees Celsius.

10. You wait too long for the machine to start

Solution: Try starting the dishwasher immediately after loading the dishes, or use the delay start function to start the machine at the desired time.
