A solar sauna was installed in Kiruna, the northernmost town in Sweden, which is known mainly for its iron mines. Not for any reason and not for any purpose. City dignitaries will gather in it, where they will forge the future of the city. Its futuristic oval shape gives exactly that impression.
Swedish artists Mats Bigert and Lars Bergström are for 5 meters high and 4 meters the wide sauna was inspired primarily by the characteristics of the arctic climate, where it is dark all the time in winter and light in summer. The exterior of the 'egg' consists of 69 pieces of gilded stainless steel that reflect Kiruna and its surroundings. The interior is all made of pine and aspen wood, and the hearth consists of iron and stone.
And as they say Bigert and Bergstrom, the sauna is a place to find solutions, both small and large.
