Paris will host the Olympic Games again in 2024 after exactly one hundred years - if all goes according to plan, the surroundings of the Eiffel Tower will have changed its image and glowed green by then.
Eiffel Tower is one of the most visited attractions in the world - every year it is visited by approx 30 million people. Its popularity also has its downsides, because negatively affects the surrounding landscape. For this reason, the Paris city authorities decided to organize competition, in which architects, who contributed their own, competed against each other renovation projects around the Eiffel Tower.
Landscape architects from an English company proved to be the best Gustafson Porter + Bowman – their winning concept puts the Eiffel Tower in the center axes, which connects the Trocadero square, Chaillot Palace, the Pont d'Iéna bridge, the Champ de Mars park and military academy Ecole Militaire. It spreads over it belt of classic French gardens accompanied greens of all kinds. The renovated public space is located between the Warsaw fountains and the aforementioned bridge.
The first phase of the renovation of the urban landscape should be completed by the end of the year 2023, while more will be needed to complete the entire project 7 years more.
