The military jacket has undergone quite a few fashion changes over the last half century. The clothing, which originally served to protect soldiers, has changed many owners in its evolution to a classic fashion piece. It represented opponents of the Vietnam War emblem, by wearing which they proved their subcultural affiliation. Let's think about Yoko Ono, John Lennon and Jane Fonda, whose historical photographs later served as inspiration for fashion designers who introduced military jackets to the glamor of the fashion world. Yves Saint Laurent impressed the "desert style" as early as 1968, when he presented to the world a collection of military jackets, the appearance of which imitated those worn by officers in India in the 19th century. Many followed him, and in the 90s the military jacket became a trademark again grunge subculture. This extremely free and comfortable fashion period still inspires fashion designers today, as the extremely versatile piece of olive green color, which goes with almost everything, can be seen on catwalks and street style photos, especially festival ones, almost every season.
