You can hide behind a mask of perfection, but that's not it. This is not the real feeling when you relax and enjoy life. Why? Because you're pretending to be someone you're not.
True luxury is not new lipstick or fancy restaurants, expensive jewelry or high heels. True luxury is living the way you want. In comfortable boots and a lipstick color you like or no makeup at all. That you're eating the food you love, that you're with someone you feel safe around, and that they're together out of love, not duty.
It is a luxury to learn to discard the unnecessary, what is outdated and worn out, but to keep what you love.
Living a luxurious life is not because you deserve something, but because that thing is worth it to you. A shirt in which it is so pleasant to sleep. Baking a cake according to your mother's recipe. A kiss from a loved one. Reading an interesting book. Watching good movies. Listening to music. Enjoying the life you have chosen.
Living a luxurious life doesn't mean you're resentful when things don't go your way. Your jeans will shrink. Socks tear. The test will fail. A loved one can leave you. You might not get a promotion at work. Anything can happen. If you fail at something, it does not affect your worth in any way. It just means that things aren't going the way I'd like right now.
A luxurious life means choice. Repair torn socks or buy new ones. Discard the cake and order cookies or try to bake another cake. Watch a movie alone or go out for coffee with friends. Go and give in or fight. Find a new job or review your goals and set new ones.
It's a luxurious life live by your own rules. Go to your goals. Don't make excuses. Don't rely on your full potential. Do not justify your decisions, your dreams, your interests.
Tell yourself “This is not good for me,” and let it go and say "I can make my dreams and goals come true!"
