In September, Ford presented the Ford Ka+, which impresses in the small car class with its extremely spacious interior, very low fuel consumption and fun dynamic driving, which is available at an affordable price. It is interesting for older couples, it is excellent as a second car in the family or as a first car for young drivers, among whom is the new Domen Prevc, a promising Slovenian eagle. Domen Prevc, who turned 18 in the summer, is also taking driving lessons these days during intensive preparations for the start of the ski jumping season to become a young driver. We caught him a few days before the main test drive.
How do you like the new role of driver? What does passing the exam mean to you, what are you looking forward to the most?
I will be most happy to be independent and to relieve the rest of the family members who now drive me to training and responsibilities. Well, as well as driving pleasure.

You're doing the test with Ford's new baby Ka+. What's it like to drive it?
I like! Small, compact, bouncy, stable, responsive, sticks to the road, also has surprising acceleration, pulls. I can park it without any problems. And it's really spacious.
What do you find most difficult about driving school?
Stop sign :).
What kind of driver are you?
I like to press the gas, I enjoy the acceleration, but only up to a limited speed. I'm not raging. I like that I can feel the engine, that the gear lever slides nicely, that the car is stable, that I can feel how it holds in the corners...
Will you treat yourself to a famous trip in honor of passing the exam?
There won't be time for that, at least not until summer. Now the exam will be useful to me mostly for training rides.
Ford Ka+, bigger than expected
Ka+ is a car of surprises. It is small, but with room for five adults and luggage. Practical, yet fun to drive. Economical, but dynamic on the road. Everyone will be impressed by it, both the least and the most experienced drivers. It is intended for those who make a prudent decision to purchase a vehicle based on rational arguments, but still want a quality vehicle from the Ford line.
It offers more than expected
The Ka+ features extensive standard equipment, including power windows in the front doors and adjustment of exterior mirrors, central locking, a safety system with six airbags, electronic stability control with hill start assistance, speed limiter and Ford Easy refueling prevention system Fuel.
There is also a wide range of attractive optional extras such as electronic air conditioning, leather steering wheel with cruise control, heated front seats, sound system with DAB digital radio, reverse parking sensors, electric rear windows, heating and electric switching exterior mirrors, tinted windows and 15-inch alloy wheels.
Safer than expected
Ka+ is equipped with 6 airbags as standard and has two ISOFIX mounts on the rear seats. In addition, it is made of almost 50 % ultra-high-strength steel around the passengers: in the door openings, support pillars of the window openings, in the front bumper brackets and in the passenger door brackets. The SYNC multimedia interface, which also enables the EuroNCAP-awarded safety function for emergency calls, is part of the standard equipment.
More spacious than expected
The five-door hatchback Ford KA+ offers surprisingly plenty of space for five passengers. Its interior is optimally laid out and offers passengers the most headroom in the front seats and the most kneeroom in the rear in its class. There is 270 liters of space in the trunk, enough for two large suitcases, and 21 storage spaces for smaller items in the cabin ensure exceptional everyday practicality of the vehicle.
More likeable than expected
The exterior of the Ka+ follows the Ford styling cues, recognizable by the front fascia, lights and sideline with chrome accents on the front fascia and body-colored bumpers, door handles and mirror caps. Inside, eye-catching dashboard grain finishes and durable, contemporary upholstery feature a sleek charcoal black color scheme. Special chrome accents adorn the door handles, center console control buttons and air vents.
Better than expected
The Ford Ka+ is available with a 1.2 Ti VCT 63 kW (85 HP) engine and a 5-speed manual transmission at a special price of €10,750.
