The Harlem Globetrotters are American icons and a true synonym for family fun and great basketball skills. Their unique shenanigans are known to every basketball fan, as they have been enthralling young and old for 92 years. The basketball acrobatic group Harlem Globetrotters will stop at Tivoli Hall in Ljubljana on April 11, 2018 as part of their world tour.
Harlem Globetrotters were initially performed as competitive basketball team, which stunned the world when the years 1948 and 1949 defeated the famous Lakers. Their achievements accelerated the integration of the NBA and heralded a new era in the sport. Nevertheless, in the late 1940s, the Harlem Globetrotters began to move away from competitive basketball and incorporate into their performances acrobatic elements and comedic elements, which soon brought them world fame.
With their attractive approach, openness, optimism and amazing tricks with the basketball, they significantly contributed to the greater recognition of basketball, and they are also known for their charitable activities. Since they have been operating, they have already introduced themselves in 123 countries on all six continents of the world and played more than 26.000 shows where they have impressed everyone from popes and presidents to kings and queens - every year they play 300 matches live, catering to almost three million fans.
They will also be held in Ljubljana April 11, 2018 measured with the Washington Generals, who remain their eternal losers for the 43rd year. With the game, they will thrill the audience who will, as is usual for Harlem Globetrotters shows, the possibility to participate on the floor.
