December is here and so is the time for gospel music. One of the most successful groups of black spiritual music in America at the moment, The Harlem Gospel Choir, is coming to Ljubljana. The goal of their tour is to bring people and nations together through music. During their rich career, members of the choir performed for the Roman Catholic Pope, Nelson Mandela, Elton John, Barack Obama, ... They collaborated musically with many world-famous artists: U2, Marie J. Blige, Andre Rieu, Gorillaz, Madonna, Diana Ross, Cindy Lauper and many others. The choir was founded by Allen Bailey in the second half of the eighties. He got the idea for it after visiting a celebration in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Harlem. He brought together the best singers and musicians from Harlem and other New York black churches in the choir in order to best present the musical and spiritual segment of African-American culture. Their songs of hope touch everyone regardless of religious, ethical or national affiliation. Every performance is something extraordinary, and even in Cvetličarna we will certainly enjoy ourselves while listening to the penetrating voices of the members of The Harlem Gospel Choir.
