That the musical-literary event Horror Mundi/Groza sveta, directed and performed by the poet Svetlana Makarovič and the musician Zlatko Kaučič, is really worth seeing, is evidenced by the sold-out Cathedral of Kina Šiška last December and the standing ovation that accompanied the end of this pompous performance.
Great interest is one of the reasons why, after two equally sold-out literary-concert evenings with the Mar Django Quartet, which filled the Šisna Cathedral last March, the first lady of Slovenian poetry, Svetlana Makarovič, returned to the stage. And not with just anyone! She is accompanied by Zlatko Kaučič, winner of the Prešeren Foundation award and one of the best Slovenian jazz percussionists, who has also been involved in setting poetry to music, or interweaving poetry and music, since the very beginning of his percussion career.
At the evening entitled Horror Mundi/Horror of the World, Svetlana Makarovič will interpret her most terrifying songs, and Zlatko Kaučič will combine her most terrifying poetry with virtuosity with his music, which, as always, he will perform live.
