The Huntsman: Winter's War is a prequel to Snow White and the Huntsman, which revived the famous story in 2012, but gave it a very dark tone. The film returns Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth reprising their roles as the evil Queen Ravenna and the hunter Eric from the original film, this time being directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, who has added Emily Blunt to the cast as the Ice Queen and the Queen's sister Ravenne and Jessica Chastain as Sara, the love of the hunter.
Adventure fantasy action The Huntsman: Winter's War is the prequel to the movie Snow White and the Huntsman from 2012, which was set very darkly. Cedric Nicolas-Troyan took a slightly different tone than his predecessor in the director's chair Rupert Sanders, so we might not be looking at as dark a prequel as we might have hoped for.
