Tiramisu Overnight oats: A breakfast that smells like espresso and is reminiscent of the popular Italian dessert. When oatmeal meets... coffee, Greek yogurt and a slight hint of cocoa create a true culinary treat that you can prepare in the evening and enjoy in the morning.
Tiramisu overnight oats
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup oatmeal
- 1 tablespoon of chia seeds
- 1/2 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 espresso or 1/4 cup strong coffee
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 to 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
Directions
- In a large cup or glass, combine the oatmeal, chia seeds, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, milk, and 1–2 tablespoons of maple syrup. Mix well to combine.
- Cover the bowl and place in the refrigerator. Let it rest for at least 6 hours – ideally overnight.
- In the morning, mix Greek yogurt with 1/2 to 3/4 tablespoon of syrup to create a slightly sweet and silky layer.
- In a glass, alternate layers of cooled oatmeal and sweetened yogurt.
- Finish with a gentle sprinkling of cocoa on top for the perfect tiramisu effect.
