Post-punk revivalists The National will be closest to us on August 12 in Vienna. Tickets are on sale now, it's time to get yours.
The National, the Brooklyn melancholics (formed in Cincinnati, Ohio), who released their sixth studio album Trouble Will Find Me (nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of Best Alternative Album 2014) last May, have already won the hearts of many. If you are one of them, you can have them August 12 watch and (listen) in Viennese open air Arena. They will be preceded by singer-songwriter Sharon Van Etten, also from Brooklyn.
The musicians have been compared by some to Joy Divison, Wilcom, Depeche Mode, U2 and Nick Cavom & The Bad Seeds. Matt Berninger's excellent baritone vocals, excellent lyrics and recognizable orchestration and minimalistic rhythms probably contribute to this.
