The new French president, Emmanuel Macron, used a Citroën DS7 Crossback for the ceremony. The new model was first presented to the public with pictures two months ago, but it will hit the roads only in 7 months. But this would be almost nothing special, if Macron's ceremonial swearing-in had not been his first trip. French presidents have always been the main ambassadors of the country's automotive brands.
DS7 he's not quite ordinary SUV. It has a special sliding roof and (French) flag holder next to the front wheel. The exterior is decorated in blue Ink Blue, and the interior Opera Inspiration black leather, which was named after a Parisian quarter.
Engine data is not yet available, although at DS Automobiles they say that the technologies they used at DS7, also available to ordinary mortals from January 2018 onwards. It is also one of the technologies DS Connected Pilot, a system for partially autonomous driving. We wish Macron pleasant drives in his new presidential car!
