GoPro CEO Nick Woodman promised a few months ago that a new "entry-level" camera would soon be available to customers. The promise has now become a reality as the new Hero camera is already in the market.
The new camera looks the same as its predecessors Hero 5 and Hero 6, but it costs 219.99 euros. The main differences between the Hero model and its more expensive 'colleagues' lie in the performance of the device.
Hero is capable of creating high-resolution images 4K and method super-slow-motion at the frequency 60 frames per second. It takes photos in resolution 10MP, while the Hero 5 and Hero 6 shoot in resolution 12MP. For example, the Hero 6 Black has a built-in GP1 processor, and Hero will have to make do with Ambarella chip.
The Hero also has a lot in common with GoPro's more expensive cameras. Contains 2 inch touch screen and features for audio control and digital video stabilization. It will also work under the surface of the water, viz up to a depth of 9 meters. Accessories designed for other GoPro cameras can also be used on the Hero model.
GoPro wants to attract a new group of target customers with a cheaper camera that at the same time offers solid performance. Above all, they want to impress people who have not devoted much time to recording so far.
