Just retired forensic investigator Benjamín Esposito decides to write a novel about an unsolved crime, the brutal rape and murder of a young girl that still haunts him twenty-five years after the crime. He reveals his intention to his former boss, Irene, with whom he has been secretly in love for many years. While the course of the former investigation unfolds through memories of the past, Benjamín, in search of the truth and the end of his story, once again finds himself on the trail of the killer.
