A table that defies gravity

Tables of asymmetrical and different shapes are always interesting. They are even more so if they have a special feature. This is also the table by the designer Paul Cocksedg.

The table is unique because of its unusual shape, where the lower part is wrapped. The upper part is then rather long, which is why few would dare to place a glass on the extreme edge, but due to the optimal distribution of weight, we can even stand there. It is made of one piece of steel and weighs 454 kilograms.

The structure is currently on display in a New York gallery Friedman Benda, which ends on October 12, 2013.
