Local master director Tomaž Pandur once again brings spectacular theatrical excellence. This time through the fruit of Slovenian-Croatian-Italian cooperation, the performance Michelangelo, inspired by the motifs of the play by the writer Miroslav Krlež, which reveals the artist's struggles and spasms of liberation through art.
Slovenian co-production Pandur Theaters the Croatian National Theater in Zagreb and the Italian ones Festival Mittelfest and Teatro Nuovo Giovanni da Udine saw the stage lights for the first time last July in the cross-border Vidmo, and on Wednesday she will also present herself to the Slovenian audience.
Based on the expressionist drama by the Croatian writer Miroslav Krlež performance-installation show from the beginning of the 20th century Tomaž Pandur reveals a dismembered portrait of an Italian Renaissance artist Michelangelo Buonarotti. The intimate fresco depicts the artist "transitioning between this world and the next, from hell to paradise, from wakefulness to dreams, from complete peace to chaos, from consciousness to superconsciousness, from the finitude of life to infinity". He tries to solve constant inner fears, wounds and unrest through art.
With his directorial contribution, Pandur does not follow established conventions, but communicates strongly with the audience through a spectacular performance in the embrace of raw human emotions.
After the performance, in Club Lili Novy also followed a conversation with the director, which will be led by Vesna Milek.
