There are only two days in the year when you can't do anything: Forget about yesterday, don't wait for tomorrow

“There are only two days in the year when you can't do anything. One is called yesterday and the other is called tomorrow. Today is the right time to love, believe and above all to live.” These wise words of the Dalai Lama remind us that the true power and beauty of life is hidden in the present moment. But do we really live like this? Do we dare to fully embrace today?

When we think of wisdom The Dalai Lama, this simple yet profound quote makes us think. How many times do we wish we could change the past? How often do you get caught up in worrying about the future? This cycle of regrets and expectations deprives us of the most beautiful thing we are given - to the present moment.

Why does yesterday keep us trapped?

Yesterday is full of stories. Some are wonderful, others haunt us like ghosts of the past. We all have moments when we wish we could go back and fix mistakes or relive happy times. But the truth is, yesterday is like a book we've already closed. We can learn from it, but we cannot rewrite it.

Psychologists say that too much focus on the past often leads to sadness or even depression. Instead, let's ask ourselves: What did yesterday teach me? What can I do better today?

Tomorrow - an illusion of the future

The future is attractive, isn't it? It promises endless possibilities, goals, dreams and sometimes fears. But here's the trick: it never comes like tomorrow, but like today. If we keep waiting for the "right time", we risk that it will never come.

The Dalai Lama is right - tomorrow is not a place where miracles happen. Miracles happen today, the moment we decide to change something, love or believe in ourselves.

How to live today?

The first step is simple but challenging: slow down. How many times have you overheard a friend's laugh or missed a beautiful sunset while scrolling through your phone? The present moment is precious and worth cherishing.

Step two: let's set priorities. If you only had one day, how would you spend it? Would you be nicer to people, would you take more time for yourself, would you confess your love? A good question is why don't you do it today.

The third step may be the hardest: forgive yourself. If the past teaches us, it is to accept mistakes. If the future calls us, it is to allow ourselves to dream without fear.

Love, believe, live

The Dalai Lama reminds us of the essence of human existence: love and faith. We love ourselves, others and life. We believe in our abilities and in the beauty of the world. By focusing on what we have now, we can create a future worth looking forward to.

Every morning is a new opportunity. Yesterday is already behind us, tomorrow is just a promise, and today is the only day we really have. Let's be bold and take advantage of it. As the Dalai Lama says – love, believe and above all live!
