Halloween in Northern Ireland is something special thanks to Londonderry's enchanting Halloween Festival. This is one of the biggest Halloween parades in Europe, with fireworks, street parades and colorful events taking over the city for a week.

Salem, USA

Salem, Massachusetts, became famous for its witch trials in the 17th century. These processes served as inspiration to American playwright Arthur Miller in writing his seminal play The Crucible. Today, the city is full of museums and memorials to women who lost their lives during witch hunts. In October, Salem hosts its annual Psychic Fair and Witchcraft Expo, culminating in the Salem Witches' Halloween Ball.

Edinburgh, Scotland

Half an hour's drive from Edinburgh is the 13th-century Dalhousie Castle Hotel, which is said to be haunted to this day. The Gray Lady with a tragic fate is said to have lived here for a time, which still haunts visitors here to this day. Sir Alexander Ramsay, who was starved to death by the then owner of the castle in 1342, is said to have been one of the deceased residents.
