The Mercedes G-Wagen is one of the few pure-bred off-roaders that even proved its capabilities in the military in the past. But what happens when a military car serves its purpose?
Mercedes-Benz in the early 90s of the last century, in cooperation with the German army, it produced a version of the G class, colloquially known as the "Wolf". In the company Expedition Motors recognized in these retired military cars an excellent basis for high-end luxury expedition vehicles. Thus, today German wolves are restored and modernized with exceptional attention to detail.
For each vehicle, you should need more than 1000 hours works. They start by disassembling the entire car down to the "bare" metal, repair all defects and damages and give it a fresh paint job, and then reassemble it. Of course, they also restore the engine, transmission and the entire chassis. To make these old G-Wagnes comparable to modern vehicles, they equip their interiors with expensive materials and LED headlights. The process takes 12 to 16 weeks and prices start at US$90,000 (calculated 82,026 euros).
