"It's important to participate, not to win!" Well, yes. Anyway. The Olympic Games are considered the biggest and most important sporting event in the world and for many athletes they represent the pinnacle of their careers. Of course, there are also sports industries that have other, more important events. But none, except OI, date back to about 2,800 years ago. Paris is in the running to host the 2024 Games and special awards have been prepared to mark the occasion.
World famous French designer Philippe Starck, who also worked with our Gorenje, was asked to design medals for Paris 2024.
This is not Starck's first contact with the Olympic Games, as he designed the Olympic torch for the 1992 Olympics in Albertville. Multiple Olympic winner Tony Estanguet is actually the one who invited Starck to design the medals for 2024. Starck envisioned the concept of 'sharing' and he named him 'Made for sharing'. This way, the medal winners will be able to share their awards with their loved ones or a professional team. The robustly processed edge and the picturesque surface form a distinction that can be split into 3 separate units.
As part of the candidacy, the idea was presented to 89 members of the International Olympic Committee on July 11 in Lausanne. Another contender is the American Los Angeles.
