A few days ago, Pantone announced the color of the year 2014: Radiant Orchid, which will replace the emerald green that reigned this year.
The decision was accompanied by a statement from the director Pantone Color Institute®, Leatrice Eiseman, who explains: “If the 2013 PANTONE Color of the Year 17-5641 Emerald served as a symbol of growth, renewal and prosperity, Radiant Orchid transcends the color wheel to intrigue the eye and ignite a spark of imagination. Radiant Orchid encourages widespread creativity and originality, which is increasingly valued in today's society.”
It is wearable in fashion for men and women, we have already seen it on the catwalks of magazines for spring summer 2014, but now it is slowly moving to red carpets as well. Thus, we expect a wide range of shades to spill over into women's and men's wardrobes and fashion accessories throughout the coming year.
It will also enter the field of beauty and cosmetics industry, as it revitalizes the skin and acts more energetically. Both cool and warm tones offer many striking combinations that suit many types of hair, eyes and skin. It will enter the interior through the open door and provide lively accents with its presence. In addition, it is beautifully complemented by olive green, as well as darker shades of green, with turquoise and light yellow shades. It also goes well with more neutral tones such as grey, beige and earth tones.
