Rosemary is an evergreen, bushy plant that belongs to the lovage family and originates from the Mediterranean area. Its branches are decorated with delicate flowers of various colors, from pale blue to almost white. In Slovenia, rosemary can grow in a flower pot, which in winter is moved to a bright place where there is no cold.

Rosemary is rich in essential oil, the composition of which can vary depending on the growing area, season and soil. As a Mediterranean plant, it needs a lot of sun and heat for the optimal development of its essential oil.

Rosemary is known for its healing properties. It is used in folk medicine for a variety of purposes, such as calming spasms, stimulating appetite, killing germs and promoting blood circulation. It is also known to improve memory, strengthen and calm the nerves, activate the heart and blood circulation, and help with various digestive problems.

Interestingly, rosemary is always associated with love. In ancient Greece, its scent was believed to liberate the spirit, allowing love to permeate the body. Rosemary was traditionally dedicated to Aphrodite, the goddess of love. In addition, rosemary was a symbol of regeneration, impermanence and rejuvenation for the Romans.
