  • The ship was carrying 2,223 passengers and crew. Of the 2,223 people on board the Titanic, 1,517 did not survive.

  • The last Titanic lunch menu sold for tens of thousands of dollars and had 11 courses.
  • There were only 23 women on board from the crew, out of a total of 908.
  • On board were 20,000 bottles of beer, 1,500 bottles of wine and 8,000 cigars – all for passengers traveling in first class.
  • Two of the nine dogs were among those rescued.
  • There were 26 newlyweds on board.
