After the Holy Three Kings, in January we commemorate another king, the king of rock'n'roll, Elvis Presley, who would have celebrated his 80th birthday today, January 8. Although he has been gone since 1977, he lives on through his music, with which he gave the world many eternal hits.
Elvis Presley, or as it says on the birth certificate, Elvis Aaron Presley, was born January 8, 1935. He was a twin, but his brother, who peeked into the world half an hour earlier, died before birth. God gifted him with a black voice, the nickname "Elvis the Pelvis” and he earned it because of his characteristic movements with his hips. But his path to eternal glory was paved with poverty and rejection.
The anecdote goes that as a child he wanted a bicycle, but his mother gave him more than that acoustic guitars she could not afford. Even the first musical attempts met with disapproval. But when he is at Sun Records dropped the idea that Elvis Presley would be ideal, yes music by black artists closer to the wider masses, the record turned. Everything else is history. Handsome appearance, sexy movements, seductive voice and with guitar in hand became a magnet for girls with the help of television and cemented screaming and swooning as a part euphoria, which accompanies fame.

First Royal a bestseller, which climbed to the top of the charts, was Heartbreak Hotel, followed by many others that are still riding the airwaves today (e.g. Hound Dog, Don't Be Cruel, Love Me Tender, Jailhouse Rock, Are You Lonesome Tonight,...).
He left far too soon, but still left behind a rich musical legacy. To celebrate the 80th year, they therefore opened a special page ElvisTheMusic.com, where they take place debates about his life and music, and he will also play his part Graceland. In the meantime, it will Legacy Recordings honored his name with a year-long celebration, which he begins with a release collections ”The Complete '60s Albums Collection Vol. 1” on iTunes. This covers Elvis' music from all the LPs recorded over the years 1960 and 65 (with digitally processed sound). So the king lives on.
