Today, Vienna's Rathausplatz turned into an ice dream, as a huge ice rink was once again built through the park, which will delight until March 9.
The backdrop of the gigantic, more than seven thousand square meter ice rink is provided by the famous Vienna City Hall, and the skaters skate to the speeds of the eighties and nineties, as well as some waltz in between. The ice sheet is as much as 750 meters long, and last year one of the largest mobile ice rinks in the world hosted as many as 590 thousand skaters. You can skate from nine in the morning until ten in the evening, and a part of the surface turns into a curling track every day at five in the afternoon. Perhaps the evening hours are a little more special when the ice surface is romantically illuminated.
