Otherwise, women's shaving is a fairly modern "invention" that was shaped by Gillette and became the norm after 1915. Now girls are once again taking power over their bodies and want to redefine beauty standards.
On Instagram a new trend is raging- women with hairy armpits. Until Gillette's ads in women's magazines, armpit bumps were nothing unusual, but today they are disapproval or even disgust, as most confuse it with uncivilization, impoliteness and unhygienic or dirtiness. A social norms are changing and one of the main initiators of this kind of change in thinking is social network Weibo, which set off an avalanche that also moved to Instagram.
