Trends from this year's New York Fashion Week

Derek Lam, Jenny Packham and Hugo Boss.

After fashion week in Milan and Paris, New York was charmed with exceptional women's collections for autumn/winter 2014. Heavy knitwear forgotten by the past, bold feathers and bright fur combined with transparent and light. Take a walk through the predictive fashion trends of this fall.

We were impressed by the winter tartan Tommy Hilfiger, Hugo Boss androgynous minimalism, graphic prints Caroline Herrera and Proenza Schouler, Carmen Marc Valvo gentle geometries, Michael Kors translucent dresses covered in fur, wide-cut trousers Derek Lam, French chic berets and pullies Ralph Lauren, wilderness Alexander Wang and of course a fresh set of iconic ones Diane von Furstenburg reversible dresses. But for a better overview of what we will wear in autumn, we have summarized 8 most prominent trends.

1. Colorful fur

Calm, monochromatic fur will be replaced by the colorful vibrancy of rich patterns and colors. Still in the form of popular coats, we will wear them in combination with practically any material.

2. Heavy knitwear

There's nothing cozier on cold days than oversized, fluffy sweaters. In the coming season, we will be able to go really big with them.

3. Delicate laces and sharp geometries

Weaving of lace in a slightly gothic spirit and sharp lines of geometric patterns will bring a gentle romanticism and sophistication to the look.

4. Feathered

Feathers will come to life in the form of small details on fashion accessories or as bold exoticism of coats.

5. Eternal tartan

Plaid continues its march in a variety of forms, from bell-shaped skirts, comfortable shirts, trousers and oversized coats.

6. Wide trousers

A cute trend that brings a fresh change between trouser cuts. Unusual lengths, mostly a little below the knee or above the ankles, give the illusion of a fluttering skirt when walking.

7. A wilderness of patterns

The central thread of the collections presented on the New York catwalks is definitely playing with patterns. Renaissance, animalistic, graphic and mystical. A set with which we will definitely never be bored.

8. Selfish

Be yourself is the mantra of autumn! We will be able to continue to express our rebellious cool nature with the beanie caps and naughty sweaters that have been popular for several seasons, as well as the latest Rag & Bone bowling shirts and bomber jackets or unusual Wang creations.
