When we travel, it is good not to anger the locals by mispronouncing the cities and towns we are in. Fortunately, Trillophila has collected some of the most commonly mispronounced place names and shown us how they are actually pronounced correctly.
Most of the problems arise from adapting the name from one language to another. Most of us will never pronounce "Beijing" or "Paris" the way the locals do, but it's nice to at least try.
