The Swedish watch company Triwa was founded a little over ten years ago with the aim of transforming the watch industry. The employees focused on designing simple and elegant watches, which are made from recycled materials, among other things.
The last one Triva's project can be described as the most stunning. This time, the watchmakers want to convince consumers with a new watch made of metals recovered from illegal weapons. Triwa has partnered with the organization to produce the product, which will be available in limited quantities Humanium Metal. The latter deals with the distribution of materials that were once part of prohibited weapons.
Once the pieces of weaponry are seized, they soon undergo the melting process in the furnaces. From them, a completely new iron is created, which Humanium Metal sells to interested buyers, such as Triwa. In this way, it is possible to reduce the number of illegal weapons, while at the same time the material can be put to good use.
New model Triwa x Humanium Metal will be available in two diameter versions 39 respectively 34 millimeters. Customers will also be able to choose between dark gray and steel dial and leather belt from the Swedish company Tärnsjö and with a military green belt made of corduroy. It is intended to protect the watch sapphire glass, which is scratch resistant. The watch is also water resistant. You can use it until 100 meters below the surface.
At Triwa, they want to donate to Kickstarter to raise money with the help of which the new watch could be launched on the market. The manufacturer is offering backers a watch at a discounted price that is 229 dollars, which translates to 198 euros. Part of the proceeds from the sale will be donated rebuilding conflict zones around the world and support for victims of gun violence.
