Combining the best that puppetry has to offer has probably become almost self-evident to us in recent years. Nevertheless, we will be surprised by the sixth edition of the Maribor Puppet Theatre Biennial, as the program is attractive to all generations. In addition to of the best Slovenian puppet shows of the past two seasons, this time selected by selector Amelie Kraigher, will also be held over five days, with a consultation of puppet technologists, a workshop and talks about performances with an overview of the Slovenian puppet space, and an exhibition and spatial installation will also be on display. With a guest performance from abroad, the festival is not limited to domestic productions. To the delight of "adults", the program includes the dance extravaganza Love Dolls directed by Dudo Paiva. If we missed the premiere of the whirlwind of puppets, people and emotions accompanied by excellent live music, it is best to get a ticket right away. Young people, regardless of age, will certainly like Jernej Lorenci's original project Meso ali razodetje, which critics have described as an intense cabaret ritual, full of impressive scenes defined by acting, music, scenography... The festival offers another original project. In Deed Without Words, Zoran Petrovič deals with an individual trapped in an environment without basic life goods. In Forbidden Loves, the Amphitheatre of the II. Gymnasium Maribor brought together the destinies of famous heroes from Greek mythology. Daedalus, Pygmalion, Pasiphae and Narcissus received his recognizable stamp with director Silvan Omerzu. The youngest will enjoy the performances Monkey Puzzle or Mommy Where Are You? by the Fru-Fru Puppet Theatre, Kameleon from the Papelito Theatre, the performance Mr. Konstantin's Hat from the Labirint Theatre, the Singing Castle of the II.
