A charming tree house has grown under the canopy in the City Forest of Celje

Celje is one of those towns lucky enough to have forests in the immediate vicinity, which are also criss-crossed with forest paths. Thanks to European funds, the municipality of Celje, together with the Celje unit of the Forestry Institute of Slovenia and Croatian partners, has now upgraded the city forest with equipment for recreation and educational and experience content. As part of the GREEN4GREY pilot project, the biggest attraction of the project, the tree house, has also grown, which will be officially opened on September 19, 2015.

In the City Forest of Celje is part of a pilot project GREEN4GRAY– stands for sustainable forest management Celje (and Rovinj), the revitalization of suburban lungs, and the promotion of nature as well as cultural values - under one of the canopies grew a charming tree house. Unlike the tree houses elsewhere in Slovenia (Bled, Lights,...), which are mainly intended for touristic purposes, of an educational nature, where kindergartens and schools will be able to implement forest pedagogy (teaching about forests, coexistence with nature, etc.), but it will also be a venue for workshops and meetings as well as a cultural meeting place, and of course individuals will also have access to it. The house stretches on 60 square meters and can simultaneously host up to 30 people, and around an additional 40.

The tree house in the City Forest will be officially opened September 19, 2015 at 4 p.m, and all visitors to the forest can admire it already today. This informative and educational house under the canopy is not the only acquisition in the complex of the European project GREEN4GREY, because it is the City Forest in the Anski vrh area, which is interspersed with a 14-kilometer network of multipurpose forest trails, richer for educational and experiential and seven experience-recreational routes (trim track with ten gym machines), a bunch of new benches, and they have also grown an event stage, a tree observatory and a forest children's playground.
