This is a voyage to Antarctica for which you will embark in January 2024.
We present to you a dream trip to Antarctica, which you will never forget. It is a research expedition, on which travelers are also welcome.
If you haven't been to Antarctica before, the next cruise might be perfect for it. Especially if you have a big enough wallet. The French luxury ship Ponant, in cooperation with the Explorers Club, is preparing a 30-day "cruise" to Antarctica. The ship will set sail in January 2024.
Explorers Club, founded in 1904, is represented by famous researchers and scientists, and this time those with bigger wallets will get the chance to join them. In cooperation with the Pontant company, they will prepare 12 expeditions to five continents, starting with a trip to Antarctica.
This will take place between January 7 and February 5, and researchers will study the effects of climate change on Antarctic glaciers. Passengers will stay on Ponant's flagship, Le Commandant Charcot, an icebreaker with an on-board laboratory that sails from Argentina to New Zealand. The trip will take place under the guidance of glaciologist and geologist dr. Ulyana Horodyskyj Peña, whose exploration of glaciers has taken her from the Arctic to the Himalayas.
And what will the guests do on board? From discussions to workshops, including snow sampling. Since it is an expedition, there will also be plenty of activities on land. Including hiking, snowshoeing, kayaking, etc.
“Both Ponant and the Explorers Club are founded on the principles of exploration with a deep respect for scientific research whose studies are designed to preserve our oceans, environment and climate,” Navin Sawhney, Ponant's CEO for the Americas, said in a statement. Prices for a 30-day trip start at US$50,550 per person.
