Qiyun Deng, a Chinese designer, in her thesis at ECAL (University of Art and Design Lausanne) dealt with the question of what to do when things are too beautiful to throw away.
For thesis, project Graft she designed Cutlery , which she infused with the feeling of being made of fruit and vegetables. The structure and shapes of the vegetables serve as an integral part of the accessories. An impressive set of forks, knives, spoons and serving cups is made of biodegradable Pla bioplastic, which completes the concept of natural, degradable materials (fruits and vegetables). The products are still in the development phase, but should be put into production and on the market in the near future.
