Vail is the world's first smart ski resort that notifies skiers about crowding and wait times at the lifts

Vail has become the world's first smart ski resort.

The winter equivalent of the inconvenience called road congestion when we drive to the sea is a line in front of a chairlift or cable car on a ski slope. But the future promises us smart ski resorts that will improve the user experience of skiers and enable us to meander for a longer time and wait in line less time. At least that's according to a project launched at Vail Ski Resort, which has a dedicated EpicMix mobile app (soon to be available for Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone) that provides real-time information on the condition of the ski lifts.

While we have just recovered from the new heat wave, they are already seriously warming up across the pond new ski season. Ski complex Vail Resort has become an even friendlier place for skiers, as they can with the help of a dedicated EpicMix mobile apps received data on possible crowding and waiting times on individual chairlifts, cable cars and also cable cars (similar to those that exist for road congestion). The application will collect information via radio frequency identification (RFID), otherwise ski pass recognition technology.

Thanks to the EpicMix application, the ski resorts will be less crowded, as the skiers will spread out more.
