Victoria Beckham: from pop diva to fashion empress - a new documentary series on Netflix

Premieres on October 9th: prepare yourself some tea and a free afternoon, because you'll want to watch all three parts at once.

From "Posh Spice" to the fashion mogul with her own label who now rules Paris Fashion Week, Victoria Beckham has made one of the most fascinating transitions from pop culture to high fashion. And now, finally, she's getting her own story. A story that will be wrapped in high production, full of iconography, fashion drama and - of course - interviews that will reveal more than a decade of tabloid headlines. What will the Victoria Beckham documentary series reveal?

Three-piece documentary series Victoria Beckham will premiere on October 9th – and judging by the creative team, it's going to be a fashion (and emotional) spectacle.

Director Nadia Hallgren – known for the series Becoming about Michelle Obama – and a production team with Emmy-sounding credibility (BECKHAM) have joined forces to create something more than just a classic “from Spice Girl to fashion icon” portrait. It will be a portrait of a woman who has always walked the line between the irony of the media and her own uncompromising vision.

And if it is David Beckham Building her documentary on the greens, Victoria will unfold her story amidst the silks, backstage lights and the tension of fashion weeks. In other words – if you have a fetish for haute couture and a British accent, this is for you.

Documentary series Victoria Beckham: From girl power to fashion power

The series follows Victoria's journey from her childhood in Essex, through to global success with the Spice Girls (yes, Wannabe (probably appears on the soundtrack), to her transformation into one of the most serious contemporary fashion designers. And no, it wasn't a "hobby of a famous football player's wife" - it was a driven and perfectionist path, on which she had to overcome many a sneer and doubt.

“When I said I was going to have my own fashion label, everyone laughed,” Victoria once admitted. Today, she’s probably the only one laughing – and she does so with perfect contouring and a tailored pantsuit.

Behind the scenes of the fashion world – and behind the scenes of family life

The documentary will reveal the preparations for what many consider her most ambitious project yet – a fashion show at Paris Fashion Week. But it will also take viewers into more intimate spaces: family moments with David, conversations with her children, and confessions from friends in the fashion industry who know Victoria as the “Iron Lady of Fashion.”

Although her image always seems flawless and polished, the series will likely reveal cracks beneath the shiny surface. Because, let's be honest – the world of high fashion is more of a gladiatorial arena than a Pinterest board of inspiration.

Why watch?

Because Victoria Beckham is one of the few women in pop culture who has managed to define her public image more than once—and without apology. She's a pop icon who's not stuck in the '90s. She's a wife, mother, businesswoman, and creative director—all while successfully navigating a world that eats women up quickly and forgets them even faster.

And because everyone – but really everyone – we want to know: how the hell does she manage to never doesn't lose its elegance, even when wearing a tracksuit?

In conclusion: Victoria never sang the loudest, but she always had the best styling

On October 9th, we'll finally get a more human—yet still ultra-chic—look at the woman who once sang about "girl power" and now embodies it at its highest level. Although she's been in the spotlight for decades, it seems like we're only now getting to see who Victoria Beckham in fact it is.

And let's face it - if we also get some fashion inspiration and bold looks over our glasses, so much the better.
