Wearable fashion creations with signature typography

This time, the fashion industry entered the world of the written word, letters and messages that can be read and worn on new creations by famous fashion designers. Alexander Wang, Christian Dior, Celine, Erdem, Louis Vuitton, Masha Ma and Kenzo are just a few designer names who signed their creations with a story, slogans or logos.

Every day we spend a lot of time reading a variety of texts. Although it is not only about reading books, magazines and newspapers, we are surrounded by various forms of texts with which we are constantly in contact. We live in a time of brands, logos and the signs that denote them. Typography happens when thoughts are turned into the written word, and it seems the fashion industry couldn't resist it. Well, at least Alexander Wang, Christian Dior, Celine, Erdem, Louis Vuitton, Masha Ma and Kenzo they couldn't help her.

They are creative directors at Kenzo Humberto Leon and Carol Lim went a step further. They consciously decided to change and for a few seasons, they replaced the popular sweatshirt/pullover in the style of a tracksuit with the logo of the same name with an activist inscription on the shirts "No Fish No Nothing". They drew inspiration for the new spring/summer 2014 collection from the marine world in cooperation with a charity organization Blue Marine Foundation wanted to draw attention to sea pollution and overfishing. The handwritten font reflects a strong message of the problems of global marine pollution.

At the English fashion house Erdem, we see love letters on t-shirts that come to life through American poetry Emily Dickinson and Walt Whitman. Erdem's monochromatic collection mimics rebellion against the English public school system with the idea of a teenage girl dressing like a boy. Adopt his famous style of dressing, white shirts buttoned up to the neck, uniform jacket and clothes with a sporty touch. He persists with his style and rebellious behavior until he truly falls in love.

Masha Ma is a fast-growing fashion brand that has joined forces with English graphic designer and typographer Neville Brody for the Spring/Summer 2014 season and created a new "visual language". As Brody explains, there is no visible text on the clothes, but they prioritized a form that communicates on its own.
