When do cinemas open in 2021 and which new movies can you watch already in June?
After the closure of cinemas for several months, the seventh art is slowly waking up and long-awaited blockbusters are returning to the big screen.
So, when do cinemas open in 2021? A few cinemas across the country are already open, some are opening their doors next week, the rest will open gradually. Currently, the Ljubljana one is already in operation Movie theater, drive-in cinema Bežigrad (on June 3rd they also open the auditorium), Maribor cinema Maribox opens its doors on June 3. The beginning of June is going to be a little scary, as a horror movie is coming to the big screen that reveals the terrifying tale of a body swap between a teenage girl and a ruthless killer portrayed by Kathryn Newton and Vince Vaughn. Writer and director Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, the Paranormal franchise) presents a black comedy horror film that reveals the brutal truth about what happens at a high school.

The crime thriller stars Carey Mulligan as a young woman with a brilliant way of getting revenge, and is directed and written by visionary director Emerald Fennell (Killing Eve series).

The action-thriller Guardian starring Liam Neeson, who will unexpectedly try to protect a young Mexican boy at the border from dangerous cartel killers, will be released in theaters in mid-June. The film was directed by Robert Lorenz, who also worked as a screenwriter and producer, and the screenplay was also written by Chris Charles and Danny Kravitz.
A Quiet Place: Part II (2020)

A family threatened by mysterious creatures that attack only at the sound of a sound is returning to the big screen. In the new part of the horror movie, the family will have to face the horrors outside the safe home. Like the first part, the second one was directed by John Krasinski and also wrote the screenplay. The cast is mostly the same as in the first part - Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe are joined by actors Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou.
Friendsgiving (2020)

It's time for some laughs, and the comedy, which presents the story of a Thanksgiving celebration among friends, will ensure a good atmosphere. In order for the peaceful celebration to become chaotic, individuals among the invited guests will provide plenty of complications, unpleasant and comical situations. The comedy was directed and written by Nicol Paone, Ben Stiller and lead actress Malin Akerman are among the producers, and the latter is joined by actors Kat Dennings, Christine Taylor, Jane Seymour and others.
Fast & Furious 9: The Daring Saga (Fast & Furious 9, 2021)

One of the most successful Fast and Furious franchises is returning to the big screen this summer with a new sequel - the ninth. Actors Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang and Oscar winners Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron return, and new characters join the family for the first time – actor John Cena and singer Cardi B. The new part was again directed by Justin Lin, who sat for the fifth time in the director's chair of the famous racing saga, the script was written by Dan Casey.

In the dubbed version, Štefan Kušar, Ajda Smrekar, Aljaž Jovanović, Igor Štamulak, Ajda Toman, Saša Lešnjek Volasko, Alenka Tetičkovič and others lent their voices to the main characters.
Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard (2020)

Action crime comedy The Hitman's Bodyguard from 2017 has got its sequel - the famous hitman Samuel L. Jackson and bodyguard Ryan Reynolds will be joined by the hitman's wife Salma Hayek in the sequel of the film entitled Protect My Wife tried to combine. Just like the first part, the second one was directed by Patrick Hughes, the actors Morgan Freeman, Antonio Banderas, Tom Hopper and others join in. Salma's double in the film was played by the Slovenian stuntwoman Tjaša Perko, and the scenes were shot in several cities in Croatia and in Trieste.
