Although a skin care routine is already well established for many, questions and uncertainties often arise when it comes to hair care. Hair needs just as much attention as skin, but many people still struggle to find the right sequence of products to achieve the best results.
Hair care changes according to the season and the demands it brings. Summer brings additional challenges - strong sun, sweat, chlorine from the pool and salt from the sea – all of these can damage the hair. We all know that conditioner is used after shampoo, but what to do with other products such as serums, oils, masks?
Knowledge in the correct order applying hair products is just as important as your skin care routine. Products have different benefits for your hair, but only the right order ensures proper use.
Although each hair type is unique, there are general rules that will help you achieve the best results. Experts recommend the following order: shampoo, conditioner, mask, then styling products and texture sprays. Regardless of whether you use all of these products at the same time, the order will always be the same.
Shampoo
Hair care begins with shampooing. Choose the right shampoo for your hair type – thin and straight, thick and curly, dyed or undyed. The right shampoo can bring out the natural texture of your hair.
Use a color-treated shampoo if your hair is colored, a moisturizing shampoo if it's dry and damaged, or a volumizing shampoo if it's lifeless.
Hair mask
Experts recommend applying the hair mask with your fingers, avoiding the scalp. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes before washing it off. Hair masks can replace regular conditioner, but you can opt for both if your hair is very dry or damaged.
Conditioner and hair oils
After using the mask, apply the conditioner while the hair is still wet. Hair oils can be used on damp or dry hair. If you don't plan to use heat styling tools, apply them now as your hair will absorb the ingredients best.
However, if you plan to blow dry or straighten your hair, the application time is different as it can cause hair burns during styling.
Decryption tool
Styling products cannot work effectively on knotted hair. That's why it's important to use a detangling agent immediately after showering and before applying other products. This will help reduce possible breakage during styling.
Apply the detangler from mid-length to ends, avoiding the scalp to avoid weighing down the roots.
Heat protection
This is a crucial step that many people skip, but it is very important. If you plan to use heat tools such as a hair dryer, flat iron, or curling iron, it is imperative that you apply a heat protectant immediately to prevent damage.
Spray the product throughout your hair and use a fine-toothed comb to ensure even distribution from root to tip. You can then proceed to style your hair as desired.
