Tina Fey Goes to War in Whiskey Tango Foxtrot! If anyone, you probably didn't think that Tina Fey, who is known for making people laugh out loud, would make a movie in which she goes to a war zone where there are real volleys of fire. A Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, however, is not a serious war film, but a war comedy based on Kim Barker's biography "The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan", in which a host of star names such as Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street ), Martin Freeman (The Hobbit) and Billy Bob Thornton (Rotten Santa).
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is a war comedy from the authors of the films Bad Santa and I Love You, Phillip Morris (directing duties were shared by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa). Inside her Tina Fey (SNL, 30 Rock, Sisters) plays a real-life reporter Kim Barker, who exchanges a comfortable New York office for Kabul (Afghanistan), where, in addition to the war, he encounters the charming English journalist Tanya Vanderpoel (Margot Robbie), by the expressionless Scottish journalist Iain MacKelp (Martin Freeman) and military officer Geno Holland (Billy Bob Thornton).

The film relies on real events journalist Kim Barker from Afghanistan and Pakistan, despite the war background, we can expect a lot of (mainly) black humor in Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, as the first trailer also lets us know.
