Why is it good to add vinegar to potatoes while cooking?

Potato skins are high in fiber, although most recipes call for them to be removed. When preparing it, it is good to know which potatoes to use in order to enjoy the best dish, i.e. taste and texture.

Why add a little vinegar to the water while cooking the potatoes?

You add vinegar to the water because it will help it keep its shape. It is recommended to cook the potatoes for about 30 minutes and add the vinegar after 10 minutes.

Vinegar has the role of maintaining the firmness of the potato, as it will strengthen the membrane more. The potatoes will keep their shape, won't fall apart or become mushy.

You can choose any vinegar you have on hand - wine, apple or alcohol, it doesn't matter.

It is best to store potatoes in a dry and dark place, as moisture from the refrigerator, for example, can change its taste.

The temperature should be between five and eight degrees. It is also important not to use nylon or plastic bags to store potatoes, as there is a risk of faster rotting in them.
