Men are attracted to women who have a bulging bottom because it is said to indicate that the woman is 'sexually excited', according to a new study.
Rounded buttocks, as they have for example Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez, they attract so men than women. In order for women to bulge their buttocks, they have to push their pelvis forward. A previous study showed that this signals to the animal world that the females are ready to mate. A new one study it proves that such a body position evolved and 'migrated' to humans, and thus women show that they are also interested in men in a sexual sense.
"This may also explain why women wear high-heeled shoes and why men then find them more attractive. In this case, the buttock is protruding," explains the lead author of the research Farid Pazhoohi from the University of Minho, Portugal.
How did the research go? Scientists have computer generated six 3D models of the female body. The back of the body was shown in different but common angles, and 82 men and women were shown from the front, side and back. They are participants rated the attractiveness of the model in each position, and the technology, which tracked the participants' gaze, recorded on what they paid most attention to in the photos.
The results showed that there is a bigger arch on the back where the buttocks are more convex, more attractive to members of both sexes.
