Why was it easier to be fit in the past than it is today?

A new study has shown that today, even though you eat and exercise as much as they did in, say, 1980, you are fatter. It could be said that scientists have finally found the answer to why today's generation is a little more abundant than our parents' generation was, or rather it has to work harder to be on the same level.

Now, at family holiday dinners, you can finally put your uncle (or anyone else in your family who loves to use an interrogation method at family gatherings that would be the envy of professional secret agents in their interrogation) under their noses. scientifically savvy answer: "Yes, uncle, since the last time we saw each other, I really gained a few kilos, but did you know that today scientifically proven (we recommend that you highlight this information!) much more difficult to be fit than in your days, when you were, say, still young and not so wrinkled?" (Use the last part of the sentence at your own discretion, the author will not be blamed for your possible family disagreements!)

The fact is that in a study in which scientists studied 36,400 Americans (let's say it's similar for Europeans) between 1971 and 2008 and 14,419 people between 1988 and 2006, they discovered that today it's more difficult for people to have as many kilograms as, say in 1980, even though they eat the same amounts of food and exercise under the same conditions.

In other words – a man who today it is and exercises the same as someone in 1988, will have a BMI of as much as 2.3 points higher!

If you are 25 years old, you need to eat less and exercise more so that you are at the same level as your parents were when they counted the dewy 25 spring. Let someone else say that living nowadays is simple!

And why is that? Well, scientists haven't been able to confirm the assumptions yet, but as is typical for scientists, they have several different hypotheses (one or all of them must already be right!)

Assumption number one is that we are exposed to a lot of chemicals that are probably stimulating gaining weight (then why haven't they invented a chemical that gives you a "six pack" in a healthy way?). Also, the fact that today's food is wrapped in packaging that is full of chemicals and consequently affects our hormone levels, probably does not help with a fit, healthy lifestyle.

Second - a huge increase in the use of drugs and pills that you are on humanity relieves pain and suffering. Antidepressants and many other medications are associated with weight gain.

And thirdly, scientists say that the bacteria in our stomachs have changed a lot, because today we eat a lot more meat than we used to. And, of course, the quality of the food is not what it used to be (this fact is really not a surprise!).

Let's go!
Let's go!

And what is the solution to this problem? We all probably already know the answer to this (but sometimes the journey from information to action is a bit longer) - more exercise and a little less food – but healthy and as little processed as possible. It seems to me that scientists often come to the same conclusion that my grandmother gives me every day (or is she still a scientist in her spare time?).
