Since this year is a special year for comedy, the winter edition of the Panč festival 2017 will also be special. As part of the celebration of the ten-year anniversary of the domestic stand-up scene, the owners will receive the first set of state awards. Pančev Comedian of the Year will thus be awarded for achievements in the field of one of the most vibrant creative disciplines, which in recent years has brought dozens of creators to the stage and the media.
"Stand-up has developed into a very popular genre, and our comedy family is getting bigger and bigger. Every cultural genre has its own award, and with the ten-year anniversary of the scene, it's time for stand-up to get its own as well. Just as we got the festival very soon at the beginning, and we also needed a club dedicated to stand-up comedy to develop talents, so now it is necessary to have an award. And who else is more called to award it than the Panč Academy," says one of the fathers of the Panč festival, head of the Ljubljana Laughter Club 10ka and Zagreb's Studio Smehha, an iconic manager and one of the main drivers of the domestic stand-up scene Andrej Težak - Tešky.

Winter Punch 2017 will connect Boštjan Gorenc – Pajamas, and along with the finalists in four categories (breakthrough of the year, newcomer of the year, for special achievements and best joke of the year), three hot local rappers will also perform with points prepared just for this event: Nips, Knock and Challe Salle. The first set of recognitions for Panč's comedians of the year spans four categories and something honorable mentions, for comedian of the year as chosen by the audience but you can already vote on www.10ka.si.
