Winter sports are a little different - maybe we add a parachute to the skis

Fun in the snow can also be enhanced in various snow parks.

When the first snow falls, we take skis, snowboards or sleds out of the closet. How about trying something new this year? We have prepared a selection of slightly different, bolder and interesting winter sports. Maybe we'll add a parachute to the skis this year.

At first glance, it seems that winter does not allow many opportunities for movement. It's cold and early in the evening, so runners and cyclists suddenly disappear from the roads. However, this does not hinder the fans of the cooler season. During the walk, we see little ones bathing, sledding and rolling in the snow. Cross-country skiers pass us, skating on the surrounding lake. During the weekends, people crowd the ski resorts. We can do many other things in winter. Snow kiting, racing on ice with luxury cars and "airboarding" are just some of the unusual sports that in recent years have blown up the offer of winter sports with the speed of a snowstorm.

When sledding is not enough for us...

For a long time, sledding is no longer just the domain of children. The offer has progressed here as well, we have arranged winter and summer toboggan runs. It's a great way to release adrenaline, wiggle and have fun on the snow for the whole family. If we are tired of sledding, we are advised to try "airboarding". Airboard is an inflatable, good meter long winding cushion, intended for descents on snowy slopes. We lie down on it with our head forward, we control it with the help of the handles, tilting the body and legs. We have to wear knee pads and a helmet, because riding it is anything but innocent. The Airboard can reach a speed of up to 141.79 kilometers per hour. It is especially popular in Switzerland, where it has its own tracks, cable cars and competitions. We don't have them for now, we can "airboard" on the ski slope. Don't let the aforementioned speed scare you. Let's stop simply, with our feet.

Snow mountain biking

When you think of winter sports, cycling is probably not among them. It should be. "Fat biking" or "fat bikini" is actually nothing more than a winter version of mountain biking. The sport developed in the nineties in Alaska and soon became a fixture of American cycling competitions. "Fat" bikes, as cyclists call them, are special bikes with deeply cut wide tubes. They are suitable for slippery and unstable terrain. They look a bit clumsy, but it's their structure that turns snow mountain biking into pure pleasure.

Thicker inner tubes make for a fun ride in the snow.

Driving around sharp corners is especially fun, as the slippery surface allows you to "drift". We can perform various tricks with them and use them in snow parks. The bikes are also suitable for complete beginners, but they offer another advantage - falling on snow is much softer than falling on rocks. The next time we see a cyclist while skiing on the slopes, we will know what happened.

Snow kiting

Skiing and snowboarding are extremely popular in Slovenia. Unfortunately, the two sports become more expensive every year, and during the weekends, carefree skiing is made difficult by the long crowds at the cable cars. What if, instead of the cable car, you got to the top with a kite? Let's try snow kiting. Recently, kitesurfing has become one of the most popular summer sports. And since kitesurfers wanted to be active with their horse in the winter, they invented snow kitesurfing. The sport works on the same principle as its summer version. Sportsman - a kitesurfer has a kite, a type of sports kite, attached around his waist. The waterboard is replaced by snow or skis. The wind pulls the snow kite across the snowy meadows, straight, up or down. The kite occasionally lifts the athlete slightly off the ground and allows him to perform tricks. Sounds like fun, doesn't it?

Skiing ... with a parachute?

If we're the adrenaline type of person, we'll get excited about paragliding. At first glance, it is somewhat similar to kitesurfing, but paragliders ski with small parachutes. Well, maybe the term skiing is not the most appropriate. Ski pilots fly most of the time. When skiing, the parachutes are filled with air and instead of landing immediately on the snow, they slowly fly to it. While almost anyone can learn to kitesurf, using a parachute takes a lot of practice and knowledge.

Ice racing

We are fans of adrenaline, but have we already forgotten where the skis and ice skates are hidden in the basement? Are we one of those who drive their car to the nearest parking lot at the first snowfall and use the slippery road to their advantage? Let's have this kind of fun again this year, and in style. In Sweden, Finland and Norway there is a whole range of providers that offer ice racing on frozen lakes. Let's forget about mediocrity. We can slide across the frozen lake with the latest and most prestigious cars. Tuthill Porsche has prepared a special version of the legendary 911 model for ice racing. The redesigned version is equipped with a protective racing cage that protects the driver in the event of a collision or skidding off the track. Porsches have more than 300 horsepower and a particularly responsive gearbox that allows the driver to glide through corners in the most sophisticated way. Tuthill's Porsche 911 is a car we definitely want to drive on ice. Ice skating takes place on remote lakes, far from the Scandinavian city centers. The fear that the participants will be bored after the race is over is unnecessary. The racing package providers combine the fun with an excellent lunch prepared by the masters of Scandinavian cuisine in one of the nearby cabins. It also includes visiting and relaxing in spa and wellness centers.

Is there any more joy in driving on a snowy road?
Is there any more joy in driving on a snowy road?

Winter and snow give us endless opportunities for recreation. Some of us swear by traditional sports, while others swear by unusual sports, which we often wonder if they even exist. In all of this, the most important thing is that we move even in winter and thus take care of our well-being and health. For those who are more lazy, the comfort of a ski lodge and a glass of mulled wine always remain, which always warms us up on cold winter days.
